This EU-project, with full title "Promoting the Uptake of Gaseous Vehicle Fuels, Biogas and Natural Gas, in Europe" (IEE/08/545/SI2.528537), started 1st May 2009. The project aims at increasing the use of these environmentally benign vehicle fuels in the transport sector. It will also promote the production and upgrading of biogas (biomethane) as a vehicle fuel, as well as injection of the upgraded biogas to the natural gas grid. The long-term objective of the project is to promote the realisation of a network of filling stations for biogas and natural gas reaching from the northernmost tip of Europe, Finland, to the south of Italy, in other words: the GasHighWay.

The official project website is http://www.gashighway.net.

Throughout the project NGVA Europe’s main responsibility is the organisation of two international seminars. The first international seminar A Trans-European Road to Renewable Mobility was held on 28th January 2010 in Malmö, Sweden. The NGVA Europe press release on this successfull expert conference can be seen here

NGVA Europe will also have to use its network for collecting needed information for the project and also disseminating the results of the project.
