NGV Market Growth in Europe (1995-2008)

Before 1995 the European NGV market was basically limited to Italy. Since then the number of NGVs in Europe is growing steadily. During the last five years the market growth for NGVs in Europe picked up significantly and NGVA Europe even expects it to be much higher in the near future due the current EU Policy on alternative/renewable fuels and GHG emissions. But it has to be taken into consideration that the European NGV market development is not following any rules and will always be influenced by unpredictable factors and national incentives (please refer to NGV Success Stories)

NGVA Europe (in co-operation with the GVR) provides detailed statistics from 2003 for all European countries. Numbers from 1995 until 2002 are based on estimations from the International Association of NGVs (IANGV).
