Leader of the gas market in Serbia, today is a modern gas company whose strength and tradition are decades of experience, significant human and material resources, knowledge and commitment to promote, develop and gas infrastructure linking Serbia to neighboring countries.
Srbijagas public company, headquartered in Novi Sad was founded on 1 October 2005. by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Today's Srbijagas was created in the restructuring of NIS, the organizational units of the NIS-Gas, and NIS Energogas
NIS Jugopetrol (RJ Gas and gasworks, Pancevo), who developed the gas sector over fifty years.

JP "Srbijagas" perform activities of public interest and general interest of the state, the main duties are:
• Secure the supply of natural gas market
• The development and safe operation of the transmission, distribution and storage system
• Developing opportunities for establishing new routes and sources of supply through the connection with transport systems in nearby countries
• Development of principles and rational use of energy-efficient natural gas with respect to environmental protection and sustainable development principles
