Madrid/Spain, 8th October 2009; NGV globetrotter and NGVA Europe member Rainer Zietlow, on Monday, 5th Oct, set off for a NG/biomethane marathon driving across the tectonic plate of Eurasia. Zietlow's Challenge4 team from Germany started their journey at the most western tip of Europe, in Cabo da Roca, Portugal, and will arrive at the Asian Pacific coastline on 27th Oct. On his way through Spain, on 6th Oct, Zietlow stopped with his VW Caddy Maxi EcoFuel (109 hp) at the NGVA Europe headquarters and received a greetings letter from NGVA Europe, which he will hand over to ANGVA (the Asian NGV Association) when arriving at the ANGVA 2009 conference & exhibition in Donghae, Korea (27-29 Oct).
Rainer Zietlow's newest Challenge4 (website: www.challenge4.de) project "EcoFuel Eurasia" runs through the Eurasian continent and leads from the Portuguese Atlantic coast via Moscow to Seoul and Tokyo where it ends on November 3rd, 2009. At the beginning of their trans-continental trip, Zietlow's team stopped in Madrid, Spain, on 6th October and visited the NGVA Europe headquarters where NGVA Europe also signed a greetings letter to their regional partner association in Asia, ANGVA. Zietlow will hand the NGVA Europe letter over to ANGVA when arriving at the ANGVA 2009 conference and exhibition in Donghae on 27th October. Before his arrival to South Korea, he will also visit the Russian natural gas exhibition GASSUF 2009 in Moscow (13-15 Oct.).

"The VW Caddy Maxi EcoFuel is the new "natural gas long-distance champion" and the ideal vehicle for such an enterprise. No other series vehicle can drive 600 kilometers in operation using natural gas only", Rainer Zietlow says. The Challenge4 Caddy is specially equipped with extra Cylinders by MCS, which have been put in the back of the vehicle and increase the range of Zietlow's NGV to an amazing 2.500 km. Among the sponsors are also the NGVA Europe members and NGV component manufacturers Swagelok and WEH. Next, the Eurasia tour takes Zietlow to Eastern Europe before entering Russia. NGVA Europe member WEH already provided the CNG Caddy Maxi with a special NG/biomethane tank adapter, so that the NGV can be refuelled without any problems.
